IMAGINE you are making a s’more. You start with the graham cracker base, add a marshmallow, and put a piece of chocolate on top. Adding chocolate pieces makes the marshmallow squish. The weight of the chocolate is putting pressure on the marshmallow. Similarly, air pressure is caused by the weight of air above an area of the Earth’s surface.
